There’s something mystifying and secretive about abandoned wrecks of ships, cars and airplanes. They play with your imagination, holding on to their past. The PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course is popular because it offers rewarding adventures while observing responsible wreck diving practices.
Wrecks are not restricted to ships or boats only. Also airplanes and cars are more than worth while to explore.
During the course you will get familiar with international guidelines for researching and exploring wrecks. You’ll get acquainted with laws that guard their historical and cultural significance.
During four dives you will be taught safety considerations for navigating and exploring wrecks, how to survey and map a wreck, how to use penetration lines and reels to guide exploration and techniques to avoid kicking up silt or disturbing the wreck and its inhabitants.

If you’re at least 15 years old and have earned a PADI Adventure Diver certification or higher, you can enroll in the Wreck Diver Specialty course.

Mind you, there are different types of wrecks. Some are protected by local governmental laws. This indicates their historical and cultural significance.
Your training sessions start with reviewing the guidelines for researching and respecting wrecks. During four dives you will get thehang of safety considerations for navigating and exploring wrecks. You will leard surveying and mapping a wreck. We will make you famliar with the use of penetration lines and reels to guide the wreck’s exploration. After the course you will have the techniques to avoid kicking up silt or disturbing the wreck and its inhabitants.
You’ll need your basic scuba equipment and a dive light, enabling you to see inside the wreck. A slate for making notes will come in fine, together with an underwater compass for mapping and navigation purposes, and a line and reel for practicing wreck penetration. Our instructor may suggest other gear appropriate for wreck diving in your area.
