Program Details

SSI React Right. The Essence.

As an engaged diver it is your ambition to come to the rescue when respond right first aid is required. Because you are a caring and responsible diver.

The SSI React Right program provides students with the knowledge and training to act as a first responder and provide first aid and CPR, administer oxygen and/or provide Automated External Defibrillator (AED) support in the event of a medical emergency.

Each portion of the React Right program (First Aid and CPR, Oxygen Administration and AED) may be taught individually or in any combination of the three sections.

The SSI React Right is the course answer to developing skills to manage an accident scene and provide essential first aid. Underwater, we are exploring and extending further limits so we need to be particularly aware in the event of an accident or an incident.

Being qualified as React Right will give you the skills to manage an accident scene and provide essential first aid.

Upon completing the course, you are bound to hold a different perspective towards diving and the safety aspects of diving. You will discover you can remain calm during alarming situations.

SSI React Right. The Pre-requisites.

• Minimum age 12 years old

SSI React Right. The Training Sessions.

There is breakdown of five separate entities as part of this course. Here the are:

• Assessment
• Stabilisation
• CPR
• O2 provider
• AED Management

During the Assessment sessions,  you will learn how to assess the victim and the surrounding before providing help. You will be taught the principles of the 3R’s (recognize, respond and restrictions).  when performing initial survey of an emergency.

During the Stabilisation sessions you will get familiar with the ABC procedure, standing for airway, breathing and ciculation.

You will learn how to provide CPR when necessary. You will be taught how to operate the Automated External Defibrillator.

SSI React Right. Learning Method.

There are three area’s of note:

1. Basic First Aid—minimum requirement for SSI Stress & Rescue Course
2. Advanced First Aid—work cover approved for the work place and beyond
3. Oxygen Administration—essential qualification as a dive professional

As a matter of fact, the learning method is not directed to divers exclusively In other words, your React Right training is not a “for divers only” course. You do not need any prior diving experience to enroll in this training.

SSI React Right. Certification.

Upon completion of all academic, practical training scenario requirements, and completion final exam with a passing score of at least 80% an SSI React Right Instructor may issue the program’s digital certification card.
