SSI Boat Diving. The Essence.
Boat dives make it possible to discover sites you cannot visit from the shore because they are to far out. Enhance your skills diving from boats.
It’s fun really to do most of your diving from a boat in company of like-minded enthusiasts. Our goal is to teach you skills of paramount importance during your SSI Boat Diving Specialty Course.
The ocean is littered with dive sites, but many of them cannot be reached from shore. This program offers you the skills and knowledge required to safely dive from a boat, allowing you to get the most from your underwater opportunities.
Boats allow you the opportunity to explore spectacular dive sites far from shore. This SSI program covers the additional knowledge you need to make your first boat diving vacation a true success, and the techniques necessary to dive properly from all sizes and types of boats. Enhance your dive trips! Most of the diving you will do while on vacation will take place from a dive boat.
SSI Boat Diving. The Pre-requisites.
- Minimum age: 10 years old.

SSI Boat Diving. The Training Sessions.
You will learn the right boat diving techniques, properly select your dive boat excursion and diving from your boat. We teach you important skills in a fun environment. All courses are taught using home study, short academic sessions, and in-water training. You will gain the expertise of properly entering and leaving a boat, locating safety equipment and safely stowing your dive gear.
The SSI Boat Diver course will expand your knowledge about boats from small inflatables to large liveaboards. You’ll gain experience scuba diving by completing two dives from a boat in your local area and learn:

- Diving From Your Boat
- Finishing Your Boat Trip
SSI Boat Diving. Learning Method.
The primary goal of any SSI Specialty course is to teach you important skills in a fun environment. All courses are taught using home study, short academic sessions, and two open water training.
Sign up and acquire the Boat Diver Specialty Course. With digital learning, you can study at your convenience anytime or anywhere on your computer, smart phone or tablet. You safe time and can learn at your own pace.
SSI Boat Diving. Certification.
Upon completion of all academic and in-water requirements, the SSI Professional may issue the program’s digital certification card.
Certified SSI divers can dive with an equally- or more-qualified buddy in environments equivalent to their training and within the recommended depth limits of their certifications.
Students younger than 15 years old will be certified as an SSI Junior Diver in the applicable program, and can dive under the direct supervision of a dive professional, or with a certified adult, in environments equivalent to their training and within the recommended depth limits.
